How to Request a Used Excavator Quote from China

Requesting a used excavator quote involves more than asking how much a machine costs. The supplier needs enough information to identify a suitable unit, confirm what machine evidence is available and discuss the cost of delivery to your destination.

A clear inquiry also makes it easier to compare quotations. Use the following checklist when contacting a used excavator supplier in China.

1. Specify the Excavator You Need

Begin with the brand and model whenever possible. If you are flexible, describe the work the excavator will perform and provide the main requirements below.

  • Preferred brand and model
  • Acceptable manufacturing year or year range
  • Maximum working hours
  • Required operating weight or tonnage
  • Bucket capacity
  • Preferred engine model or emission standard
  • Required attachments, such as a breaker, ripper or different bucket
  • Budget range and required quantity

Tonnage and bucket capacity are especially important. Machines with similar model names can have different weights, configurations or attachments. Engine and emission requirements may also affect suitability for your market.

If you are asking about a machine shown on a website, send the product page URL, stock number or serial number. This helps confirm that the quotation, photos and inspection information refer to the same unit.

2. Confirm the Machine Location and Status

Ask where the excavator is currently located. Location can affect inspection arrangements, inland transportation and preparation time. You should also confirm whether the exact unit is Available, Reserved or Sold, and whether it is still being inspected, repaired or prepared for loading.

Used equipment inventory changes quickly. A written quotation should identify the exact machine, confirm its current status and state how long the offer remains valid.

3. Provide the Destination Country and Port

International shipping cannot be discussed accurately without a destination. Include the destination country, preferred port, expected purchase date and final delivery city if inland transportation is needed.

Ask whether the quotation is EXW, FOB or CIF. These terms cover different parts of the transport process, so prices are not directly comparable unless the same trade term and destination are used. Machine price, inland transport, loading or dismantling, ocean freight and optional insurance should be identified clearly. Import duty, tax, customs clearance and local delivery may need to be confirmed with a customs broker in your country.

4. Request Exact-Unit Photos, Video and Inspection Evidence

Do not rely only on general marketing images. Ask for recent evidence of the exact excavator being offered.

  • Front, rear and both sides of the machine
  • Serial number or identification plate
  • Hour meter, dashboard and controls
  • Engine compartment, hydraulic pump, hoses and cylinders
  • Boom, arm, bucket, pins and bushings
  • Undercarriage, tracks, rollers, idlers and sprockets
  • Cabin and display
  • Visible leakage, welding, damage or repaired areas
  • Included attachments and spare parts

A working video can include the machine identification, engine start, dashboard, boom and arm movements, bucket operation, swing, travel and basic hydraulic operation. Photos and videos are useful for initial screening, but they do not replace a physical inspection. If needed, ask whether an on-site, live-video or independent third-party inspection can be arranged, and agree on the inspection scope in advance.

5. Check What the Written Quote Includes

  • Exact brand, model and machine identification
  • Year, stated working hours, tonnage and bucket capacity
  • Engine information, condition and included attachments
  • Current location and availability
  • Currency, price and trade term
  • Destination port and estimated freight, if requested
  • Loading or packing method
  • Estimated preparation and shipping time
  • Payment terms, quote validity and available export documents

Do not assume that accessories, repairs, spare parts, inspection costs or insurance are included unless they appear in writing.
